The colour of teeth plays a significant role in the aesthetics of a beautiful smile. Those who were not lucky to be born with natural white teeth often ask dentists for help. Of course, the dentists usually recommend teeth whitening. However, there are many people that don’t know much about this procedure, but yet they are eager to try it. It is a good idea to learn some facts about teeth whitening before you actually visit your dentist’s office.

#1. Your teeth can be whiter than they are supposed to

When you perform this procedure you should look for white colour that looks natural and suitable for your face. We all know that frequent use of a solarium can result in bad and unnatural tan. Something similar can happen if you overuse this technique. You just need to improve the look of your current colour.

#2. Too many treatments can be dangerous

There are many people who make the mistake of having too many treatments and once they notice the first good results, they want to perform this procedure on a regular basis. Most dentists will warn the patients about the negative consequences, but there are some dentists that won’t share this fact. Frequent teeth whitening can result in permanent damage and increased sensitivity.

#3. Teeth whitening procedures are based on the same ingredients

No matter if you are using the help of your dentist or you use commercial strips at your home, the ingredients used in teeth whitening procedures are the same. Hydrogen peroxide is the basis of this procedure.

#4. Don’t ignore the signs of sensitivity

While we are talking about sensitivity, it is good to mention that about 10% of people notice sensitivity when the treatments are finished. This is a natural reaction to hydrogen peroxide that should be gone in less than one day. If the problem continues, use tooth pastes for sensitivity and stay away from cold and hot foods.

Wisdom tooth removal.

I had my lower wisdom tooth removed. To say that I was a nervous patient was an understatement. The dentist was very understanding and explained the process in stages where I could ask questions. Even though I was really panicking inside the staff had a true sense of calm and the tooth removal was quick and uneventful. I originally wanted sedation but felt confident to go without. The aftercare information was very useful. I experienced a first class service here!
