The New Year is a time for new beginnings and if there is an issue with your teeth this is the perfect time to consider making a change.
As adults it is too easy to assume the appearance or state of our teeth is set – that is the way they will always be.
This certainly is not the case with advances in dental treatment meaning a wide range of problems can be resolved discreetly.
New Year, new teeth
Hopefully regular dental check-ups will mean that your teeth are in good condition, but it might be that one of the following issues makes you feel less than 100 per cent happy about your smile.
Discolouration and staining – This is a major complaint among adults, and unless you are very strict with what you eat and drink it is difficult to avoid. Tea, coffee and red wine are all drinks that can cause discolouration of the teeth. If your teeth have become stained over time whitening will help to revive the sparkle and reveal brighter, whiter teeth.
Crooked or misaligned teeth – It may be that you missed out on orthodontic treatment as a child or the passage of time has made a misaligned tooth more pronounced. Teeth straightening has become a common treatment for adults with a number of discreet options available, such as Invisalign braces and lingual braces, which are worn on the back of teeth.
Missing teeth – circumstances or financial constraints may have meant that at the time of losing a tooth it wasn’t replaced. Missing teeth can affect your bite, causing uneven wear, and the structure of your face. An implant or dental bridge can be fitted to repair your smile – and confidence.
Look after your dental health
While cosmetic changes will improve the appearance of teeth, maintaining dental health is of vital importance.
Always make sure any pain or discomfort is checked by a dentist. A good dental hygiene routine and booking regular check-ups at the dentist are essential.
Make a commitment to look after yourself – and your teeth – this New Year.

Read moreI had my lower wisdom tooth removed. To say that I was a nervous patient was an understatement. The dentist was very understanding and explained the process in stages where I could ask questions. Even though I was really panicking inside the staff had a true sense of calm and the tooth removal was quick and uneventful. I originally wanted sedation but felt confident to go without. The aftercare information was very useful. I experienced a first class service here!
