Whilst this is obviously convenient, in the long run it won’t do your health or teeth any good to keep having ready meals as part of your diet.

There are many healthy recipes out there; you just need to look for them. With a small amount of ingredients and limited drain on your time, you could be serving up healthy meals with no problem. Here’s a quick recipe for a healthy 10 minute meal to get you motivated:

Beef & Broccoli stir fry – serves 4 people

600g (1 1/3lb) minced (ground) beef 2 heads broccoli, cut into bite sized little trees 2 cloves garlic, peeled & finely sliced 4T oyster sauce Bunch coriander, roughly chopped with some stems included

Bring a medium saucepan of salted water to the boil. Cook broccoli for 2 minutes and then drain.

Add broccoli and sauce and stir through until well heated. Taste and season.

Serve sprinkled with coriander and eat either on its own or with steamed rice.

This makes for a tasty healthy meal that you can complete in 10 minutes and is perfect for a midweek dinner for the family.
