Smiles are important – they give us confidence and have a huge influence on the way we interact as human beings.
But when something feels amiss with the way your teeth look this can have a major impact on our ability to share our smile with the world.
Wonky, broken or stained teeth can really dent self-esteem causing people to hold back on smiling to hide their dental woes.
There is really no need to suffer this way and let concerns about your teeth affect your enjoyment of life.
There are a wide range of solutions available to help people who want to alter the appearance of their teeth, from braces and whitening treatments to veneers.
Veneers are essentially caps that fit over the tooth to change the appearance of the teeth. Made from porcelain or composite resin, veneers can make a significant difference very quickly.
The veneers are made specifically to suit the patients tooth and fitted over the existing tooth. A small amount of enamel needs to be removed from the teeth that are to have veneers fitted to accommodate the thickness of the veneer.
The veneers are then bonded to the teeth using dental cement, which is incredibly strong and durable.
Veneers need to be maintained by continuing to follow a good dental hygiene routine of brushing teeth thoroughly twice a day and making regular visits to the dentist.
The material used in veneers is generally very resistant to staining so this is less of a problem, although the edges can become stained over years.
Due to the resilient nature of veneers and the strength of the bonding patients can continue to enjoy a wide palette of foods, exercising general care.
From covering up chipped teeth to reducing gaps, veneers are a great way to reinstate your smile to its brightest.

Read moreI had my lower wisdom tooth removed. To say that I was a nervous patient was an understatement. The dentist was very understanding and explained the process in stages where I could ask questions. Even though I was really panicking inside the staff had a true sense of calm and the tooth removal was quick and uneventful. I originally wanted sedation but felt confident to go without. The aftercare information was very useful. I experienced a first class service here!
