Dental Emergencies in Coventry

Do you need an emergency dentist in Coventry?
Contact the surgery on 024 76 686690 as early as possible, and we will endeavour to see you the same day if you are experiencing pain or swelling.

What seems a minor problem to some may be a major emergency to others. The following dental problems are considered an emergency to us, and we would advise you to call us immediately if you are experiencing any one of them:

  • Swelling
  • Pain
  • Excessive bleeding
  • Trauma

Dental problems won’t go away on their own. And if the pain does go away, it is likely to return and be much worse when it does. Rather than ignoring dental issues, we recommend a trip to our emergency dentist. We set aside appointments every day to ensure dental emergencies can be dealt with promptly.

We might not be able to carry out a full restoration during your emergency dental appointment, but we may be able to stop your pain and prevent the problem getting worse. You don’t have to be a registered patient to benefit from our emergency dentist services.

What happens during an emergency appointment?

During your emergency dental appointment, we may ask questions about when your dental problems started and what may have contributed to the issues. We may take X-rays to get a better idea of what is going on. If you are in pain, we will try to treat the source of the pain. You will then be invited to book a routine follow-up appointment to carry out any restoration work such as repairing a broken denture or replacing a missing crown.

Do you treat nervous patients?

If you’re putting off treatment because you are nervous or have a dental phobia, don’t worry, we’re here to help. Our highly experienced team will help to put you at ease from the moment you walk through the door. If you’re nervous about visiting the dentist, let our reception staff know when you book. We offer a non-judgemental and supportive dental service that will ensure you get the help you need, even in an emergency.

Patient Questions

Make an appointment to see a dentist as a matter of urgency. Avoid eating on the affected area of the mouth to prevent further damage and getting food debris stuck inside the tooth. It is likely that you will need a filling or crown, if the break is particularly bad, the tooth may need to be removed.

Tooth decay is the main cause of toothache. A build up of plaque will result in damage to the tooth’s protective enamel, eventually causing cavities resulting in sensitivity or pain. An abscess could cause severe toothache as the result of an infection. While a broken or cracked tooth or filling could also be to blame.
